Mayflower Sailing Club
Former warehouse, now clubhouse. Early 19th century. White painted rubble with granite quoins except for one side, which is painted brick; slate hipped roof. Rectangular plan. 2 storeys; 3-window range. Sashes with glazing bars. 20th century lean-to porch on the left. Rear (harbour) elevation has 4 ground-floor windows with windows above, the central windows made into one wide window.
Why is the site at risk? There are some broken/missing slates on roof and there appears to be some damage to the wall where the downwater pipes and the guttering meet just below the roof. The wooden windows need some attention. The walls need repointing and repainting and the possible water ingress damage as mentioned above needs to be address. Phoenix Wharf has been fenced off for Health and Safety reasons.
